About Us

UIS Telecommunications (a.k.a. UIS Telecom) provides a full range of communications services to the Harvard community. The unified structure of the voice service provides an internal Harvard network with 5-digit dialing to all campus locations and university-wide voice mail. Through partnerships with the Harvard community, emerging technologies are evaluated for their value and benefit to departments. High-quality and cost-effective services that meet the diverse needs of our customers remain the overarching focus.

Services provided:

  • Customer service for all landline and cellular telephone orders, moves, jack installation and complex communications solutions, from implementation to electronic billing (TORTE)

  • Messaging services: campus-wide voicemail, menu applications, Enabled Voice Mail (EVM); video services

  • Repair and dispatch services; inventory management

  • Campus wiring, infrastructure projects, and wireless implementations

  • Specialized services: i3/Contact Center, Emergency telephones, disaster recovery planning

  • Harvard Operator Services, directory listing management, printed directory publications, Voice Recognition

  • Audit program for departments to reduce telecom expenses

  • Invoice reconciliation and contract management; Credit negotiations for departments
